Hey, I’m Kerri! I’ve interviewed fascinating humans all over the world, including my parents in Boise, ID.
As a child, I was very shy Girl Scout and somehow in a lot of parades growing up in Concord, NH (that’s me pictured below at 8 years old…I was unable to look directly at my mother’s camera). I was intensely camera-shy as a child. Now, I continually dare myself to be on camera and stage.
No matter what you’ve done in life, you have interesting stories to tell of living, loving, and being human. We all do.
PS If camera-shyness is relatable, I have so much empathy! Here’s what people say about my interview experience.
I want to hear, preserve, and share stories with families so they can know and remember who came before them.
Even—and perhaps especially—if you find your family of origin to be less-than-ideal, family legacy video stories can be deeply meaningful. We each have a place in our family system, we each belong. And sharing family stories helps us gain context to lead our own lives moving forward. It brings up space to connect dots.
This work matters to me deeply because I learned so much about myself—my choices, habits, defaults—when I started interviewing my parents years ago. Formalizing and sharing this process with others brings me joy! I live for meaningful connection. (You do too.) A sense of authentic belonging in this world? We all need this.
A family legacy video can be a fun recollection of an oft-heard but never recorded stories. It can be an insightful documentation of where we come from. And it can help guide us to where we want to go. Life is about choosing your own adventure.
The painfully shy little girl here (me) is with adult me everywhere I go and she was involved in two previous business ventures: Concurrent and Authentic Advisor Video. My writing is published in the Journal of Financial Planning, NAPFA, Vimeo, and Zapier. I created the podcast I Reinvented My Life in Business.
A dual Irish and US citizen, I travel for cinematic filmmaking. I also film remote recording set-ups. Additionally, I write, direct, and sometimes act in narrative independent film. My work has shown at Bend Film, New Hampshire Film Festival, HollyShorts Monthly Screening, Oaxaca Film Fest, Film Festival of Columbus, and Festival Angaelica.
When I’m not focused on storytelling, I study energy medicine and herbalism. I love dandelions (they are powerful medicine) but I won’t ask you to replace your lawn. :)
